Abstract
The objective of this study was to study efficiency of microbial super LDD 9 for
increasing available phosphorus in soil and rice yields in acid soil of northeast part of
Thailand. The experiment was conducted in both green house and field condition on Si

Thon soil series. It was acid soil with pH 4.80 which has 3.00 mg kg available
-1
phosphorus from total phosphorus 14 mg kg . The green house experiment composed
of 5 treatment with 3 replications in Completely Randomized Design which consisted of
-1
control, application with LDD9 inoculum 100 kg rai and 3 rates of super LDD 9 inoculum
-1
-1
50, 100 and 150 kg rai . The results showed that treatment used 100 kg rai of
microorganisms activator super LDD 9 had the highest phosphate solubilizing microbial

population, 2.07 x 10 CFU g soil and available phosphorus ranged from 6.50-10.36 mg
-1
kg . The effect on height of rice 97.67 cm., number of tiller per plant 11.67, rice yields
-1
12.96 g clump and the lowest of grain blighted was 11.67 grains per ear.
A field experiment was conducted at farmer field in Yasothon province. The
experiment design was randomized complete block design. There were 7 treatments
in 3 replications which consisted of (1) control (2) lime with chemical fertilizer N and
K (3) lime with chemical fertilizer N, P and K (4) application of microbial LDD 9 with N
-1
and K including 3 application rate 50, 100 and 150 kg rai of microbial super LDD 9 in
treatment 5, 6 and 7. The result showed that the application of lime with N, P and K
fertilizer effected to increase soil available phosphorus after harvesting and rice yield
-1
-1
that is 15.00 mg kg and 413.33 kg rai respectively. Application of super LDD 9 with
chemical fertilizer and lime with chemical fertilizer had no significant difference in

available phosphorus. There were 9.33 and 9.00 mg kg in the rate of super LDD 9
-1
with 100 and 150 kg rai respectively. In addition rice yield were 400.00 and 393.33
-1
kg rai respectively. Both treatments were not significant difference from treatment
that used lime with chemical fertilizer. However available phosphorus content when
application with microbial super LDD 9 was higher than microbial LDD 9 at rate of

100 kg rai which gave soil available phosphorus 7.67 mg kg and 353.33 kg rai of
rice yield. For economic return, treatment using lime with chemical fertilizer followed

by soil analysis showed highest economic return as 1,151.49 bath rai and followed

by treatment using microbial super LDD 9 rate 100 kg rai . As 1,065.00 Bath rai . In
addition treatment using 3 rate of microbial super LDD 9 performed more economic

return than microbial LDD 9 rate 100 kg rai . Thus the recommendation rate of super
LDD 9 for increasing available phosphorus in acid soil of Northern part of Thailand

was 100 kg rai .
