Abstract
Sangyod rice is a well-known traditional rice from Patthalung province. The
farmers always add too much fertilizer that cause of high cost, while, using fertilizer base
on plant requirement can decrease cost. For this reason, this study was comparison of
fertilizer types that appropriate for Sangyod rice cultivation on soil group no.6. This
experiment was at Moo.6 Tapan sub-district, Sribunphot district, Phatthalung province
and in the period 2557-2560. The objectives were to study soil chemical properties,
growth and yield of Sangyod rice and economic return. The experiment was designed by
randomized complete block design (RCBD), 4 treatments with 5 replications for each
treatment; 1) Farmer practice (applied 16-20-0 at rate 20 kg/rai and 46-0-0 at rate 10
kg/rai), 2) Soil analysis from site-specific fertilizer program (applied 16-20-0 at rate 10
kg/rai, 46-0-0 at rate 10 kg/rai and 0-0-60 at rate 7 kg/rai) with green manure and bio
extract super LDD2, 3) High quality organic fertilizer base on recommendation (nutrient
quantity compare with chemical fertilizer recommendation based on nitrogen) with green
manure and bio extract super LDD2 and 4) Bio fertilizer LDD12 at rate 300 kg/rai with
half of chemical fertilizer based on soil analysis from site-specific fertilizer program
(applied 16-20-0 at rate 5 kg/rai, 46-0-0 at rate 5 kg/rai and 0-0-60 at rate 3.5 kg/rai) with
green manure and bio extract super LDD2. The experiment from 3 years showed that
applied chemical fertilizer based on Farmer practice made pH lower than other
treatment because did not apply agriculture lime before performed the experiment. In
addition, soil organic matter of treatment that applied high quality organic fertilizer and
Bio fertilizer LDD12 were increasingly and applied high quality organic fertilizer and Bio
fertilizer LDD12 made available phosphorus higher than other treatment because of local
material that used for composing high quality organic fertilizer had high phosphorus.
While, chemical fertilizer based on soil analysis from site-specific fertilizer program with
green manure and bio extract super LDD2 made rice height, tiller number per plant,
panicle number per plant and percentage of filled grain were the highest average.
Moreover, applied high quality organic fertilizer base on recommendation with green
manure and bio extract super LDD2 produced the highest average rice yield was 529.33
kg/rai. Whereas, applied chemical fertilizer based on soil analysis from site-specific
fertilizer program made the highest average economic return was 3,789.01 baht/rai, that
more than farmer practice treatment (2,951.32 baht/rai) was 28.38%. Although, soil
management by applying high quality organic fertilizer base on recommendation could
