Abstract

Mulching with various Farming Residual after Rejuvenation of Coffee Tree to Increase
Coffee Yields was investigated. The experiment was conducted at farmer’s field at Moo 8 Tambon Visai

Nvei Amphvr Mary Chumpon Province in October 2012 to September 2014. The Design was

Randomized Complete Block with 6 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments were 1) no mulching,

2) mulching by rice husk, 3) mulching by coir, 4) mulching by coffee husk, 5) mulching by bunch
and 6) mulching by vetiver leaves. The experiment results showed that some chemical properties of

soil such as pH, organic matter and potassium were the highest in treatments with vetiver leaves 6.00,

3.98 percent and 56.70 mg kg respectively. And available phosphorus was the highest in treatment with

coffee husk (28.21 mg kg ).All treatment with Farming Residual mulching obtained significantly higher
yield than control treatment (T ). And treatment with vetiver leaves obtained the highest yield, not

significantly treatment with rice husk, coffee husk and coir obtained not significantly grain dry weight,

and treatment with vetiver leaves increase grain dry weight tham other treatment. The Farming residual
benefited to the coffee tree. And last showed that the economic return of treatments no mulching had

lowest caused maximum variable cost. But income above variable costs of treatment with vetiver leaves

had maximum.
