                  ABSTRACT
The determination of the ratio of lime usage coupling with acidic leaching by water

for rice cultivation in the extreme acidic soil was proceeded in demonstrative project area of

acidic soil improvement due to the Royal initiative. This project was conducted in Chai pattana
foundation area, Ban naa district, Nakornnayok during 2556-2557 B.E. with a randomized

complete block design. The studies contain 4 experimental settings with 4 repetitions of no
lime application, Dolomite lime application at 700, 1500 and 2200 kgs/rai ratios coupling with

water leaching in every 15 days before rice cultivation; Kor-khor 41 strain. Rice seeding (on 20

August 2557), harvest (3 December 2557) and fertilizer application have been done the same
in all experiment which then are applied by 16-20-0 fertilizer formula in the ratio of 25

kgs/rai, after rice seeding for 25 days and 46-0-0 fertilizer formula in the ratio of 12.5 kgs/rai

during ripening phase. The result from 1 year study concluded that no lime application
coupling with water trapped in every 15 days increased the soil pH slightly but acidic pH is in

the extreme level (pH 3.6). The loss of major nutrients (N-P-K) is minimum with the lowest

loss of calcium, moderate loss of magnesium. However, the toxic elements such as Iron,
aluminum and manganese were also found at the high level. Dolomite lime use in 700, 1500

and 2200 kgs/rai ratio resulted in the slightly increased pH (pH 4.0-4.4). Nitrogen, phosphorus
and potassium in soil were in low-moderate level while calcium and magnesium were

increased up to the lime application ratio.
The lime application in various ratios with trapping water caused the increasing pH in

water but it is not an optimum pH for rice cultivation. Aluminum found less to be dissolved

into water but it is toxic to plants. Sulfate, iron and manganese found very little in water
before drainage, and these do not cause toxic. In another point of lime application ratio

coupling with trapped water, it results in the level of aluminum, iron, sulfate and manganese

                  decreased.
However, the rice plot used water leaching but no lime applied, rice showed the

minimum growth and germination. Whereas the plot which has lime application, rice had a

growth rate same as other plots with no significant difference in statistic value. The plot with
no lime applied resulted in the lowest products, which is 12 kgs/rai, while the plots with lime

                  applied 700, 1500 and 2200 kgs/rai produce 220, 385 and 346 kgs/rai of products,
respectively. To this end, Dolomite application in the ratio 1500 kgs/rai coupling with

trapping water in every 15 days generates the highest products when compared to Dolomite

application ratio at 2200 kgs/rai, but no significant difference in statistic value.
