coarse roots; rock outcrop consisting of 80% by area; moderately acid
(field pH 6.0); clear, smooth boundary.

Bw 12/14-22/24 Brown (10YR 4/3) very gravelly coarse loamy sand; single grain; soft,
very friable, non sticky, slightly plastic; many fine medium and coarse

roots; gravels composed of quartz and granite 0.5-10 cm in diameter
about 45% by volume of the soil matrix; strongly acid (field pH 5.5),

clear, wavy boundary.

CR 22/24-36/47 Dark yellowish brown (10YR 4/4) very gravelly coarse loamy sand;
single grain; soft, very friable; non sticky, non plastic; few fine,

common medium and coarse roots; gravels composed of quartz and
granite 0.5-3 cm in diameter about 50% by volume of the soil matrix;

strongly acid (field pH 5.5); clear, wavy boundary.
