Soil is essential for human beings and every living creature on earth.
Since soil is the source of the four requisites for our living, we utilize soil
in༛numerous༛activities༛such༛as༛agriculture,༛animal༛farming༛and༛ພshery.༛
Soil also provides us with water resources, transportation routes and
dwellings.
Due to our extensive usage of soil from past to present, soil has
begun to deteriorate. Thus, we should realize the importance of soil
improvement and conservation in order to maintain the quality of soil
rather than wait for the new soil to form and replace the old one over
time.

Throughout his 70 years on the throne,
His༛Majesty༛King༛Bhumibol༛Adulyadej༛The༛Great༛had༛
been performing royal duties with perseverance for
Thai༛people๟s༛wellbeing.༛All༛of༛His༛Majesty๟s༛royal༛
initiatives demonstrated his profound understanding
and expertise in various branches of agriculture.
His Majesty paid extra attention to the management
of soil and water, the basic factors of production.
His reputation and wisdom have been recognized
and honored globally.

His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great was
highly capable of researching information from different sources, integrating
knowledge༛from༛various༛ພelds༛of༛science༛and༛creating༛theories༛to༛solve༛problems,༛
improve༛and༛restore༛soil༛in༛an༛efພcient༛manner.༛Due༛to༛His༛Majesty๟s༛
outstanding abilities and successful works, the United Nations has declared
December 5༛of༛every༛year༛the༛๡World༛Soil༛Day๢༛to༛honor༛His༛Majesty༛King༛
Bhumibol༛Adulyadej༛who༛had༛been༛carrying༛out༛projects༛to༛improve༛soil༛quality༛
continuously until the effectual outcomes became apparent to the world.
Public and private agencies throughout Thailand have also been
celebrating༛and༛honoring༛His༛Majesty༛King༛Bhumibol༛Adulyadej༛on༛the༛World༛
Soil Day by distributing and publicizing soil knowledge, as well as organizing
activities and campaigns to promote soil-related projects throughout
December from 2012༛until now.
